DEBENTURE

Debenture is a type of debt instrument taken by a company from the people at a fixed rate of interest every year.  They are redeemable after 20 years and issued for a minimum time of 10 years.

1. Registered Debentures

–  These are the debentures which are registered with a company and can be transferred only by a transfer deed.

2. Bearer Debentures 

– These are the debentures which are not recorded in the register of a company and are transferable by delivery and don’t require a transfer deed. 

3. Non–Secured      Debentures

– These are the debentures which are not secured and does not create a charge on the assets of the company. 

4. Redeemable                Debentures 

– These are the debentures which are issued for a fixed period of a time and are redeemed after fixed time with the principal amount. 

5. Non – Secured Debenture 

These are the  debentures which  are not secured  and does not create  a charge on the  assets  of the company.
